    God Save All!

Well, what might be said of me?  I am the Lady Diana Howard, daughter of the Earl of Nottingham, and I serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Glorina Regina I (God Save the Queen!)

I am sure you have heard of Martha Potts, or Marcie, as I call her.  She is quite the headache, but I say that in the most loving way.  I greatly love that she is my dear friend and we both are so blessed to serve our glorious Queen.  She just is a tad too loud, racious....yes, you understand.  I believe it was her upbringing, or lack thereof.  Still, I believe her to be a wonderful friend and must admit we often have quite a merry time together when we are dismissed from Her Majesty's company.

I on the other hand, pride myself on being the loveliest, young, and eligable lady on Her Majesty's court.  I strive for beauty daily, some might think me vain...ha!  And I believe I rightly am, as I have had many suitors and often turn heads.

Now, I read from Marcie, that she believes she is to be wed to Lord Marshall Laww Earl of Kent, but last I spoke to Her Majesty and Lord Marshall, I was the one betrothed to him.  (Marcie, if thou art reading this, I apologize ever so greatly for the confusion.)  He spoke to my father, who is still living.  This had me ever so confused, until I spoke with Coutness Southampton, and she told me Lord Marshall often gets the both of us mixed up in his mind.  I am the one to be wed to him.

This does not upset me, nor am I opposed to this union.  I shall be the lovely, wealthy Countess of Kent, and finally be married and able to leave Her Majesty's service.  'Tis not that I do not like serving our Queen, but I truly would be happiest with being a Lady and all the duties that come with such.  Having children mainly.  I would love to bear and raise any Lord's children, just that I do so is so important to me.  I wonder what my Lord Marshall thinks...Well, he is older, but it is still my duty to provide him an heir.  I can not believe after all these years he still has not a single one...strange, he has been married before...

Well, enough of that mess, I needs must be off.

    Fare Thee Well,

    Diana
